My Work: Aimee

When I first met Aimee, she presented me with a mood board she made herself. She wanted a Tuscan feel for her wedding. She was inspired by the movie "Under The Tuscan Sun" and her mood board clearly showed that. Terra-cotta pots, olive oil, herbs, painted tiles, brick, wooden benches, green bottles, daisies etc. It was such a breeze to design something for her because she shared her vision with me early on. In fact, I still keep that mood board with me and use it as a sample for brides-to-be on how to make one to use as a guide, especially when they are not sure of what to do with their wedding or when their ideas start getting muddled.

For Aimee, I suggested a light golden yellow Vietnam silk chiffon fabric to complement her skin tone. The sunny shade is also perfect for the outdoor reception she going to have. It was a simple empire cut gown with the bodice appearing to have been tied around her and ending up as a bow in the back where bias cut cascading fabric would fly in the cool December winds.

The reception also drew inspiration from her mood board. The staff of Hacienda Isabella, headed by Ms. Kuh Ledesma herself, decorated the venue so elegantly with vintage crystal chandeliers hanging from the old wooden beams of the covered area. Everything was kept simple, yet tasteful which made Aimee's wedding very memorable.
